The new spools for SALTIGA 2020 and CERTATE 2021 were designed and developed by Mr. Hiromu Sano who focused on casting distance.

SPOOL LIPS: MULTI CUT RING

The spools have a new mechanism that allows better casting distance.

COOLING UNIT

Equipped with a spool-integrated radiator unit, it improves the heat dissipation performance of the radiator when the reel spool is rotating at high speed. During a laboratory test in extreme conditions, the temperature increase is reduced by 30% while maintaining a stable drag force, therefore extreme fluidity of the drag without jerking.

WATERPROOFING

A waterproof rubber gasket is attached to the top of the spool washer. It effectively blocks saltwater intrusion, which is the biggest weakness of carbon washers.

DRAG SYSTEM

Carbon was adopted for the American-made drag washers. A fine plain weave is selected from many wefts in order to obtain fluid and powerful drag.

PURE TEFLON GREASE

SOM has chosen to use the best grease in the history of fishing tackle, there is no jerk due to a lack of grease, even in a fight with the most powerful fish.
